Forgive my spelling if it is wrong .. how ever I was very pleased to hear The Queen has asked for Woottonn Bassett to be called the "Royal Town of"

Well done HRH.

When repatriation moves back to RAF Brize Norton I expect the same thing will happen..........Royal Carterton doesn't have the same ring to it !. Apparently Gordon Brown has to give the go ahead and I'm sure he will - however, my husband (RAF) say's that if anything ever happens to him, Gordon Brown is not welcome to attend the repatriation. Have you noticed how rarely government officials attend repatriation services nowadays ?.

Agree with both posts :-)
But then I also agree with comments here from some of the locals Wootton Bassett rejects talk of Royal title

I live in the outskirts of Swindon, just spitting distance from Wootton Bassett, I've seen many of the parades, it's just the local people paying their respects, quietly and with dignity, families of the bereaved will be there, they don't want big fancy titles, it should be left as it is.
