How long do you normally give Kaogel for before you see a sustained difference.  My 11 week old pup has been loose (not watery) for about a week now and I gave some kaogel yesterday, she had a good firm poo (sorry!) yesterday but by late night and today it's runny again.  I assume I should be dosing her for a few days at least but can't remember!

May be worth getting a sample for the Vets. Could be campylobactor. Often poo comes good and then goes straight off again.

I use Protexin, and give 3 times a day for several days.  You do need to give it more time than one dose.

Our Puppy Boxer was ill with a upset stomach at 8 weeks old the breeder contacted me as he was keeping 2 pups for himself and 2 were staying with him whilst new owners were away they all had the same syptoms so he took samples (seperate from all pups) to the vets, in the mean time our pup was given some dyasanil and some antibiotics the results then came back that the pups had Cocciida which is a single living organism which is pasted possibly from the bitch via lttle cells that come out whem the bitch goes to the loo only visable via microscope or foxes as to which the breeder has plenty as in the country side.it is very common in pups and attacking the age group 4 to 11 weeks most adult dogs carry it but become immune to it even children get it to which puppies at our vets are given the same banana medicine that the children have. All puppies are thriving hopefully your baby has just got a little bug but if possible take a sample into the vets just to put your mind at rest.hope all goes well debby

I've been dosing since Wednesday now so I will see how she goes until Monday and then if I am not happy get her to the vets next week.
