Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Ringcraft in Suffolk anyone??
- By molezak [gb] Date 09.09.09 07:58 UTC
Hello, I've moved house within Suffolk and now near the East Coast (not far from Beccles) and I'm hoping there may be a ringcraft club around.  If not I may have to start one!  Anybody live round here that shows?

Thank you for the reply and also for the PM I received.  I have tried to contact both societies but no luck yet.  It seems there is an obedience club nearby that runs ringcraft on the side but it seems quite expensive for not a lot of time there (squeezed between the obedience etc) so I might give it a shot.  Thanks for your replies.

There is one at St Olaves village hall (just through Haddiscoe on the Great Yarmouth road) on Mondays.  Junior handling from 7.30-8.00ish then puppies and adults.  Usually finishes about 9.30ish.  Usually pretty busy and noisy but I also say if a dog will show there, it will show anywhere!    Also one at Hollingsworth Road, Lowestoft on Wednesday evening.  Puppies from 7.30 and adults from 8.30.  Not so busy this one and a bit more space.

Thank you ever so much... seems there are a few mad show folk that live in this part of the country... I'm from the Midlands so feel soooo out on a limb out here!!

Yes, there are quite a few mad folk out this way.  Probably madder than most as you will soon realise the travelling involved getting to any of the major champ shows from good old East Anglia.

How are your champ show organisational skills LOL??!!  If I've plans to set up a ringcraft, why not a champ show committee?! :o)

hello molezak

do you have any experence on committees or taking training classes ?    i know suffolk kennel are always looking for new trainers and committee members and people to help with their shows.

Hi ho1mer, I'm a member of 3 breed clubs and my father is on the committee of one but with toddlers, I'd struggle to get to committee meetings, when the little ones are older, I'll be able to be more hands on!  Training classes are a different matter though and if they held classes relatively local to me, I could help but I think I'm too far south - do you exactly where do they hold their shows and classes?

hi

the training classes are held at hintlesham village hall which 5 - 10 mins outside ipswich.  the shows are in the stonham area 20 mins from beccles
