I am feeling a little lonely. My youngest son went back to school today and the house is so quiet. when I was small my mum said she was always glad the holidays were over. But I am really missing him. All I have done since i got back from taking him is clean, I have even washed the dog. Just having a coffee and waiting for my eggs to boil and then I will have lunch. I cannot wait for three so I can go get him. Started a diet as well today. 16 weeks to the Christmas party so a few stones can be lost if I get my finger out.

got to say i'm always glad when my daughter goes back to school but then she is disabled so takes a lot of looking after, day and night.
it's nice to get stuck into the house work and finally get a tidy house for a couple of hours.
if i get bored and i usually do i go for a long walk with the dogs, the exercise always puts me in a better mood and usually i end up talking to another dog walker at some point.
is there an interest that you can take up during school hours or something local to you that you can join.
i always find talking to people makes me feel better, meet a couple of mums for lunch etc. the school holidays is a long one but i'm sure your soon get back in a routine and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.

my boys dont go back tell 7th, i do miss them when they go back, house becomes too quiet! And i do hate the drop offs and pick ups from school, trying to fit in housework, dog walks etc in between school runs, and having to nag them in the mornings to get a move on so they are not late for school! :)

Never thought I'd say it, but I'm missing my two rugrats as well.  DH is making up for them though as he's taken the day off (he gets in the way far more than they do & he's on a par with their mess) :-O  I've spring cleaned my kitchen, including taking down the sideboard unit to de-cobweb behind it (found a couple of bones, a squeaky toy & an empty food packet that "someone" had taken out of the bin at somestage) - this needed dh's help as it's massive hence doing it today.  I'm about to start on the kids' rooms but think this unwise as I'll find far too much junk for the table top sale I'm doing later this month :-D

I feel same way Gemini my boy goes back on the 9th im dreading it id rather have him home with me , im not looking forward to the drop offs or pick ups either as his school is in a not so nice part of my area that i would normaly avoid at all costs as its very busy and i cant stand the ignorant people who gather on the street corners their , cant really drive their either would be WAY to heavy with traffic so walking is the easiest way and it is only 15 mins walk away thu a nice canal park but then you have to beware of all the commuter cyclists who ride like nutters thu their in the mornings its really like dicing with death,
Roll on the next holidays :-)
