Hi everyone, haven't been on here for a while, been working really hard to open my grooming salon, iv missed not being able to get on here, but firstly, this is for my friend....can anyone tell me, she has an 'English Bull Dog' and has been looking for ages for the 'english bull dog club uk' or a 'northern' one (as we're in Merseyside) I must admit, its not my breed but she's asked me to help her!
She wants to show her dog but also she's looking for any 'ringcraft' classes (and so am I!!) for her to start....
she wants to be part of a club with other dog owners with this breed as I am with the 'newfoundland dog club uk' as I am in contact with loads of newfy lovers so she feels isolated!!
can anyone help us
thanx guys

Hi again everyone
I forgot to metion....
My friend and I have looked on the internet for ages and nothing is coming up!!!!
there doesn't seem to be a club for the 'english bull dog', that seems awfully strange as they are very popular AND iv seen them in the ring at champ shows!!!!
again, if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated indeed....
thank you once again

>she has an 'English Bull Dog' and has been looking for ages for the 'english bull dog club uk'
That's because the breed name is "Bulldog" not "English Bulldog". There are loads of Bulldog breed clubs listed at the bottom of the
Breed Standard.
> she has an 'English Bull Dog'
Was she thinking of British Bulldog? This seems to be a common description on some sites but not the breed name - look under Bulldog as Jeangenie suggests
Alternatively did she mean English Bull Terrier?
thanx very much to both of you
but her dog is like a large boxer (it isn't a boxer) but he's like a mastiff type of dog, he's black and white and all muscle, my grooming friend grooms one, his head is loads bigger than a boxer dog so he is some sort of a bulldog
iv looked on the 'find the breed' on this site but can't find anything resembling the breed only mastiff, my friend hasn't a computer so that's why im helping out...it's strange isn't it there is nothing on this type of dog even tho iv seen them in the ring!!!!!!!
Sounds very much like an American Bulldog which isn't a UK Kennel Club recognised breed.
It doesn't sound like an old tyme bulldog/dorset bulldog as these are alot shorter than Boxers.
There are UK clubs for the Amercian Bulldog but I'm sure none will be affiliated to the Kennel Club.
These would run their own shows but not sure of there frequency or where they are advertised.
I doubt very much that you've seen them in the 'ring' at open or champ shows re the reason above
they aren't a recognised breed at the Kennel Club in the UK at the moment.
Perhaps at the odd companion/exemption show?

You will find some of the olde tymes, especially the ones with AmBull in them, will produce some pups looking more like short AmBulls in the litters.
This is why they aren't accepted by the KC as they are not producing a standard pup in the litters.
My pups sister is totally different to her unfortunately.
Mine looks like a short AmBull at the moment but I'm expecting her to change dramatically in the next few months as she matures.
>it's strange isn't it there is nothing on this type of dog even tho iv seen them in the ring!!!!!!!
Is the dog KC registered, if so the breed should be on the documents.
>it's strange isn't it there is nothing on this type of dog even tho iv seen them in the ring!!!!!!!
At what sort of show?
I'm guessing you mean it is an Olde English Bulldog? Or it could just be an American Bulldog?
All bull breeds show. I think there one down south somewhere, but as they are not ''british bulldogs/bulldogs'' therefore cannot be kc registered, you wont see them in the ring unless on activity reg if im correct. sounds like to me an olde tyme or similar. If you go on the the other popular dog forum and ask on there as CD is mostly kc reg and they have some owners of these dogs.

Hi, very much sounds like an American Bulldog....there is shows that happen in the warmer months but I went to a few of them and a lot of them have absolutely ridiculous competions, its very much 'my dogs harder than yours' and the last one I went to my bitch was trying to play and got a bite on the nose for her troubles and not even an apology of the owner.
How old is dog....if its a puppy then I would just try local puppy classes, there is an Ambull online registry and forum which is good if you have any problems and need someone to talk too.
There is also a lot of the 'pulling' shows that go on but I just do not like them one bit.

The ''northen bulldog'' is just a Groundshaker line of ''Olde Tyme Bulldog'' as far as I am aware there is no breed club...and the breeder I can't say a lot about on this forum..all I can say is shocking!

You can show the dog at one of the sanctions ''Bull Breed Bash's' held in Dorset, I can PM you the contacts if you wish.
I have ''Northen Bulldogs'' website, if you can call it that..
