Topic Dog Boards / General / Benefit Busters TV Programme - Staff Bull Terrier Kicked
- By vlw2209 [gb] Date 27.08.09 21:37 UTC
I was horrified to see a young five year old girl run up to a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and kick it whilst the film crew were interviewing her father "Dane".  Although the dog was not seriously hurt it did whimper and run away from her as she gave chase.

With the regular bad press regarding pedigree dogs and dog attacks I feel more needs to be done to look at the owners of dogs and why some seemingly lovely family pets turn and attack.

For Channel 4 to film and then broadcast this act of animal cruelty is totally unforgiveable.

I have complained to Channel 4 and Studio Lambert the production company.

I spotted this. And then people wonder why kids get attacked by dogs!

me and my eldest daugter were watching this tonight she was busy playing with maddie at the time and so was not taking much notice, it was only when i said oh my she asked what had happened. After that leigh-ann asked if we could turn the tv over just in case something like happened again. Now im lucky shes 14 years old and understands just how wrong this is but it is the summer holidays there may of been younger children still up watching this, who now think its ok to behave like this and kick dogs.

Channel 4 should of been more carefull with what they show on tv.

I have really "gone on one" regarding this - lol

It's seemingly trivial however the press are too quick to jump on the "blame the dog" bandwagon when attacks happen and this presents a perfect opportunity to fight back with hard evidence.

I've complained to Channel 4, the production company and also Action 4 Employment and would ask everyone else to do the same.

I also plan to draft an e-mail to the Staff Bull Terrier breed clubs to inform them of this matter.

Recently dogs have had really bad press and it's about time we started to fight our corner.

Ha this is amazing i thought i would have been the only one noticing that! Me and OH were watching it last night and i thought shes probably seen daddy do it so its ok. Made another comment to, about that if the dog attacked the childs leg and held onto it like it did with the stick, the dog would take the blame for an unprovoked attack.

The whole program is mind blowing!  And we wonder why we don't have enough money to spend on hospital, schools and pensioners! :(
