Topic Dog Boards / Showing / PD or PGD?
- By Lisakom [gb] Date 28.08.09 10:04 UTC
I would like to enter Tangle into the Midland Counties Show in October but I am undecided as to which class to put him in.

He will be going into AVNSC but I am undecided whether to put him in PD or PGD, he is still within the age restrictions to go into PD (only just though as he will be 12mths old 2 days later!) and he is eligible for PGD.

Which would be the better class for him to go in?

A little bit of advice from all you experienced showers would be most grateful seeing as I am a little green around the gills (only started showing in May).

Thanks in advance

I would definitely stick with Puppy classes while you can!

Definitely puppy.  PGD will be full of much more mature dogs. :)

PD for sure.

PG starts to get up with 'the big boys' and imaturity will often count.

Puppy it is then :)

Thank you for your speedy replies.

This will be his last Puppy class :(

I`m sure you will all be bombarded with questions when he steps up to be with the "big boys" lol

Thanks again

All the more reason then :-)

Puppy classes are great, enjoy them while you can.
Remember every win in puppy is wiped off your 'tally' so to speak, leaving you able to go into lower classes with your young adult, theoretically standing more  chance.

That is really how the show classification works........so PG is really the last class ( or L or Open) you want -  the other exibits may have won a considerable amount.

Oh I thoroughly enjoy puppy classes, especially the AV and NSC groups, more fun than the 5 shows that do have Komondor classes we get every year :)

Thanks for that ....Hadn`t realised (see what I mean about green gills lol)
