..............am thinking of getting one of these. Has anyone else used one and if so how did you find it?? The one I want has the puppy rails included and its about £70 so I want to make sure I'm making the right decision!

I've got one and a snowsilk, much prefer the snowsilk, the LAB one is square and heavy, plus if you buy the floor it doesn't stay in place, plus I like to open the front of the snowsilk pen when the pups are up on their feet so they can come out to pee/poo, the LAB one has long plastic rods down through each corner so can't be taken apart unless for dismantling.

I have cockers so not overly big at 3 weeks when they like to come out of the pen.

Just my personal opinion though, I'm sure other people find them great.

I had the link-a-bord one but for the first couple of weeks had a cardboard one inside as it was a little big (1.4) but boy was it good as the pups grew. I put a non-slip mat underneath it eventually we took the bars out as the pups were starting to climb and then took the floor out and blocked the entrance since they were little monkeys :)

db:  I like the look of those, at least you can change the height of the doorway, something you can't do with the LAB ones.  I use my Snowsilk one all the time now when I have litters, my LAB is thrown in the shed...lol.

I have a Steel City Whelping box - I have a med/large gundog breed and my bitch had 11 pups.  The whelping box coped very well, my bitch liked to throw herself around in it.  It is easy to clean, the front doorway could be made into different heights and it is lightweight, easy to move and is now cleaned and stored easily away.  I was really impressed with it!

I made my own one!!

Its wooden with pig rails and has a removable front section, for when the pups are tiny and when they get bigger the front section gets put in and this one has a door and latch in it, i designed the door for the height of the bitch and pups.

Its ace, although not colapsable, it's fab and cost me nothing to make as got all wood from UNI workshop, was all off cuts (it is 1m x1m):)

I used the Link a bord whelping box with rails and baseboard for my one and only litter :)

I had no issues with it at all - easy to clean, easy to remove the rails once no longer necessary. However, I have nothing else to compare it against but would recommend based on my limited experience

SharonM.  The Snowsilk ones are lovely but horrendously expensive :-)
