my girl is chewing her tail she only seems to do it in summer i have tried to keep it as clean as possible so it dosnt get infected but she only does it in summer i also just ahd a phone call off a lady tht got one of my pups last year and she has started chewing her back legs does anyone know why they would be doin this any help appreciated
My boy did this ALOT when he was a puppy. In the end we realised that it had become a habit rather than an itch. We just had to really keep on top of him and stop him everytime he tried. Meant a lampshade collar at night for a couple of nights but soon broke the habit.
I agree with the bath and antihistimine should stop it if it hasn't reached the habit stage
ichy feet is an allergy, pollen maybe, do you deflee teh house in eth summer? that what sets my grand dad dog of. my yorkiepoo does it all teh time but tends to do it before he is fed, i dont know if it that. he has always done it, teh other dogs dont. but he will stop when i tell him to.
My aussie was chewing his tail last summer and we found harvest mites halfway up his tail. This year he was chewing his feet and the harvest mites were between his toes and behind his dew claws, used the frontline spray again which gets ride of them. The frontline combi dose not get rid of them.
