Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Phantom changing behaviour towards boys???

I do dog boarding and am on a learning curve. Doing a lot better since having advice from you lot!!! Had several doggies since and put your advice into practice and doing good, no problems I couldnt overcome until today. My girl Laya has yet another phantom pregnancy (please, please let me get her spayed this time!) She had Galastop at the end of June but still has milk, is regurgitating food and is extremely narky. Vet wont do op until she is completely clear of all symptoms which I fully understand but they go on so long...........?? My question today. Laya has been fine with daily dog and other dogs I have had over the last couple of months. At the moment have daily dog (spayed girl) pug puppy (gorgeous) both of which she is fine with, although pug puppy does annoy her a bit!!! This morning took in a young (2 years old) yorkshire terrier (quite shocked as never seen a "tall" yorkie before) This was an emergency booking and I didnt have chance to do introduction day etc, but did arrange to meet outside the house for a while.  He is a neutered male and Laya absolutely hates him. I let them do all the smelling round stuff in a relaxed situation with none of the other dogs around,  but if she had hackles, they would have been up as she took against him straight away. Her pup, now eighteen months old, joined in and I had to intervene as poor Benjie was terrified of the two harpies. Laya is normally a sweetie and so is her pup but they really wanted to "sort" this little boy out. Can I assume this is because of the phantom? I am thinking that, as far as she is concerned, she has had her "puppies" and is weaning them now and doesnt want a boy anywhere near her. Could this be the reason.? I have had other boys at other times and no problem whatsoever, in fact she really likes them. Luckily pug puppy is happy to play with him so his couple of days here will be fun. Am able to keep the others separate, which is important in cases like this, of course. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

i wish i could help more. it maybe to do with her phantom but i've not ever had a bitch with one as mine are spayed.
on the other hand sometimes  some dogs just don't like each other and there seems no reason for it. i've got a couple of dogs where i live that hate my TT yet she never gives the wrong body language to them and is calm and friendly.
sorry, hopefully someone will of gone through the same thing and can be more help.

thank-you bear for your help. Its always good to know someone else is thinking about it!!!. She is now regurgitating food. I think a trip back to the vets is in order. Managed a play outside with all four dogs today as my son was around, just in case. it was ok but she did have a snap at lodger dog, nothing more serious. I think maybe she just doesnt want to be bothered with any strange dogs at the moment. I feel a bit guilty really but it the only way I can think of at the moment of bringing in a few extra quid.

if she's not feeling herself then another strange dog could easily upset her. i suppose it's like having our own children around wanting things when we just want to be left alone.
hope she feels better soon.

one of my girls personality changed quite dramatically during a phantom (3yrs never had one before) once she was over it , she is now back to her normal bouncy happy little self!

Oh I hope so Starryeyes. I supppose, like women who have hormone problems, (like my daughter) its a sort of Jekyll and Hyde scenario. Just hope it sorts WHEN I can get her spayed. Thanks again.
