Could not think of a another title.

Our girl smells, I washed yesterday -she still stinks!

The smell is on her neck and I know where it came from.
She had lovely time swimming at the weekend and was wearing a leather collar.
Her collar got wet and started to smell.

The collar got wet and did not dry properly few weeks ago and got a bit smelly.
I totally forgot and put it on her and she wore it most of the day, in and out of a lake...
Anybody who knows the smell I'm talking about knows it is not pleasant so I washed her but the smell stayed.
Would anybody have any ideas of a shampoo I could try to get rid of the smell?

Also if anybody knows whether the collar can be saved and made non smelly or will we just need to bin it?
It doesn't smell too bad when dry(hense me forgetting) but when it gets wet it stinks and now our normally very lovely smelling girl stinks too!

I would use Asda's Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. Works great!!

totally agree, I have the Pina Colada, really yummy. Reminds me of lying on the beach on Vanuato, lol

Dirty beastie sounds promising!
She is pretty odorless normally and I really do not like smelly dogs, even if it is just strong doggy smell...

Our normal everyday shampoo did not shift the smell and even the conditioner that smells lovely did not cover the remaining stink...

I'm a Dirty Beastie fan too, excellent for smelly dogs especially when they roll in rank dead things!!

I can relate to that... Eugh!!!

I always find that Johnsons baby shampoo does the trick on mine although they are both short haired breeds so don't harbour smells too much.

One of mine rolled in a poo (we were walking by the canal and I think it was a human poo from one of the boaters... I bet they wouldn't get a fine like we do if we don't pick up the dog poo!!), anyway that was gross and I needed to wash her 3 times to get rid of it... It did go after 3 scrubs with baby shampoo though.

Good luck!

make sure its totally really completely dry then go over it well with saddle soap (use a JUST damp sponge) will help to soften it and preserve the leather. Check the stitching as staying wet may well have rotted the thread.
