Daughter got a new mobile for Xmas . Old one has sat in cupboard since .
New phone now broken , tried to use old one but it is locked . How can we start to use old phone again , and can she transfer the number in her new broken phone to the old one we now want to use ?

if you Google 'unlocking code' for her particular model of phone, you can generally turn up the code you need to key in to remove the network lock.  Switching the sim card from the broken phone to the old one will keep the number from the broken one.

Thanks for that and i will remember that for the future , but i have better news !
I phoned Orange and told them that i didn't have the reciept but that she got the phone for Xmas and started using it that day . They said that it is still under insurance so they are sending a brand new one  and it will be here in 5-7 working days ! What a result !
