need some advice! i accidently left a pen in my work top pocket and put it through the wash, now my top is fine, but its left ink stains over my brothers £40 celtic football top, and hes none too pleased as you can imagine. Ive tried soaking it with nail varnish remover, all this done was spread it. my mum bought a ink stain remover from asda but so far isnt working. Any ideas or will i be £40 out of pocket replacing the shirt? Hope not!

Removing Ink From Clothes

The easiest way of removing ink stains from clothes is to first dab the stain with an absorbent material such as a sponge or kitchen towel. Follow this by spraying a fine mist of hairspray over the stain. Dampen a cloth with a solution of part water and part white vinegar and damped the area every 5-10 minutes until the stain has begun to lift. When the stain has disappeared, wash the garment in a normal 40 degree cycle. This method should not be used on delicate fabrics, whereby using a mist of hairspray and blotting may be sufficient.

Is it over the green too?  If it's only on the white I'd put some flash with bleach on it before putting it in the wash you.  This is my solution to all white stained clothing, unfortunately it'll ruin colours.

Good luck!
