Both those dogs look fine to me (yes the stance is a show one in the first so exagerates the slope of croup), and one has a Police shirt on so what are you saying?
I watched some of it and liked some of the GSD'S on there, the Mals looked fitter though IMO.
They tend to be faster and more agile due to being lighter (yet are so extremely strong), I always think the GSDs look so clumsy in comparison ;) but even I as a Malinois person have to say the police GSDs look very nice indeed.
It was on ITV not BBC wasn't it? Thought the Mal's looked different to the show ones and I have to say I liked the GSD's but there again I never see any GSD's at shows as you never really see them at Open Shows and I don't show, maybe thankfully on the day that they are on at champ shows.
oh yes ITV!! all the police dogs look much better than show, but teh MALs on there are getting worked alot so they will look fitter than the show dogs, i am mainly concerned with the slope of the show GSDs, i new it was bad but not that bad, i you ever do see them at a show, the worst ones being at the champ shows you will see the slope. some dog look as if they struggle to hold there hind legs up.
but teh MALs on there are getting worked alot so they will look fitter than the show dogs,
HARDLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will NOT find ANY show Malinois LESS fit than those seen on "Send in the dogs" , in fact yesterday I remarked to my husband that the bitch on there, Kelly, was quite fat and not as fit as our own dogs. The working Malis are more over the top and looks vary slightly (having said that, there are still show bred Malis working as police dogs) but there is NO difference in fitness at all, and they definitely don't LOOK less fit. Go and have a look at my website and you'll see.
oh i diddnt mean it like that i ment it as muscle, but not to say that show dogs dont have good muscles. my kooiker is a hard muscle rock, some other kooikers are not like that, but thats what a country 1:30 hour walk does a day.
