Hi

I was just wondering if someone could answer my query please? When the Kennel Club lists breeders as having puppies available is that only because the breeder has registered a litter or are they genuine puppies available at that kennels?

Just wondering thats all as some seem to be quite old litters etc

Many thanks

I got both my girls from the KC puppy lists and both had puppies available . The breeder has to inform the KC that they have puppies for sale (not advertised automatically) and when they are sold, so if they haven't told the KC they are all sold then they will still appear. All you can do is contact the breeder but in today's climate it wouldn't surprise me if there were some on there for longer than usual.

they are because they have been regitered by the internet, well thats what ive been told.
they stay on there fo a while, but remember that some breeders breed by damand so the puppies are already gone by the time they are born.

if i were you i would go to champ shows to see teh breeders and there stoke, breeders are happier to give pups to people who are willing to make the effort.

Don't you have to pay a fee to go onto the KC litter list? I'm sure that I did last time I did it (a while ago now)

They are there because the breeder paid the £15 for them to be included in the list.

You pay a fee to be listed and the listing stays active for 8 weeks I think, unless you contact them to say pups all sold.

Accredited breeders get free adverts on the puppy sales list.

Barbara is right.  I have just registered a litter online and it does say that you are listed for 8 weeks.  However, there are litters listed on my breed that have been on there for far longer.  So it doesn't seem to me that they are very good at removing litters.

And I was wrong about the £15, as I've just been asked if I want my litter listed for £20.  As I've never answered yes to that question, I really don't know if folk get many queries for pups from the KC listings.

Many thanks for your replies. So it dosen't necessarily mean that a breeder has pups available then (only that they have registered a litter).

Well that they had pups available at the time they registered them.
