Ruby Largeish breed had a litter 12 days ago. Today Darcy smaller breed had to have an emergency C Section, lost one puppy but has 2 surviving puppies. Brought Darcy home and she is still affected by anesthetic but letting her puppies feed. Ruby however has got wind of the new puppies and is running round the house in a flap apparently convinced that the puppies she can smell are hers and lost. She is refusing to settle and will only feed her puppies if I insist she lies down with them and then is straight back asking to be let into the other room where Darcys puppies are.
Will she settle. Should i let her see the other puppies so she can see they are not hers. I don't want to risk upsetting Darcy, but Ruby is getting herself into a state worrying about these new puppies.

Ithink i would be more worried that Ruby is feeling threatened by a new litter and wouldn't let her anywhere near them as she may try to kill them to protect her own litter.I'd be very careful.
