What breed of dog looks the most like a fox ?

I think that the Finnish Spitz must look most like a Fox and understand that the owners do worry if free running the dogs in open countryside where red foxes also run, in case they are mistaken and shot by a farmer or smallholder. Don't know if this has actualy happened, but can see how it could, horrid thought to think of either dog or fox being hit but not killed, and running off to die hidden in the hedgerows. Before I get the stockholders down on my head, yes I do know what it feels like to find half your chickens laying around their pen, dead but not consumed. At that moment you would be happy if the fox became extinct.

BSD pups look very like beautiful long legged foxes, in fact a neighbour asked me if one of my previous pups was a fox.

"Is that a fox?" he asked, lip curling in disgust as I put her in the car..
"No - it's a puppy" I told him - not sure if he was convineced though. But when she grew he could see for himself.

I have seen some beautiful red foxes who were very tame with their onwer and behaved as a dog might, invitng play with a bow and generally being very dog-like, but of course theydidn't look like dogs, they were unmistakeably foxes.

Shibu Inu's look quite similar.
