Could any one tell me what the name of this powder is?
It's to put on the coat or my fingers when hand stripping, to aid with the grip.
Many thanks
Karen :)

Depending on the breed I prefer chalk powder generally , I dip my fingers in then strip rather than rub the chalk into the coat. Hub online sells it or any good dog show.

I buy chalk powder from the pet shop for stripping, its in a small block, lasts for ages!

you dont have to use shalk, you can use latex gloves, that will help you grip the hair ;-)
You're right Tamara but I use the chalk to clean a handstripped coat instead of bathing too. :)

I have used both, but to be honest prefer just hands or stripping knife used correctly of course :) (Each to their own I guess)

ooo i was just giving another option,if it were down to getting pooch cleaner whiter and fresh id use knife to stripe most of hair then chalk get the coat as id need it and then (if all goes well) hey presto lol.
I get in a block and its chalk powder.
