we tried to mate our girl but he only mounted  for about 20=30 seconds he did enter her, what are the chances of her being pregnant? they did this about 5 times over 2 days but did not tie.
Also she is now loosing a clear discharge is this normal at the end of her heat cycle?
both dogs have all health test.
i would appreciate all advice as im new to breeding and have waited along time to breed and feel quite disheartend that we did not have proper mate.
also what is the earliest sign that she is pregnant?

hi there how many weeks ago did the matings take place? ther is a chance she could be pregnant as sperm is ejaculated in 3 stages and only stage 3 happens during the tie. but sperm would still have entered your bitch. and discharge can be a sign she is in whelp also.

dogs can still have a litter even without a tie...my male was stud to a litter of 10 (his first time) and he never accheived a proper tie, but I did hold him in position for about 10 mins though on each time to make sure that there was the best chance.....at this stage you probably won't know if she is pregnant. You can get a scan done from 28 days onwards but these aren't always accurate. To be honest I never saw any signs with my bitch till she was 5 weeks + even then I wasn't convinced as she had previously had a very convincing phantom pregnancy and even went to the point of putting herself through labour the earliest things are usually around 3 weeks they may suffer morning sickness, or go off food. Then with my bitch it was her chest expanding sideways and then the gradual disappearance of her waistline. No movement was felt until her last week (54 days) then she gave birth on day 62..... forgot to add, if you haven't already got it, get yourself a book called the book of the bitch available from amazon etc it is a complete bible when you are breeding :-)

with it only being 12days ago disscharge wouldnt be a sign just yet ....my girls get a clear disscharge at the end of a season .
