I have got a plastic head cone for my dog ( Doberman) he had it off with 5mins of putting it on , what can I use instead of it or is there another kind of head cone that is not so flimsy.?

depending on the area that needs to be protected, i use old t shirts, tie them up at the back to stop it hanging, i hate those horrid head cones, they cause stress on my dogs and this causes my dogs to knock things over, not want to drink, they are horrid! :)

Hi Gemini its his face that needs to be protected he has to stop rubbing or scratching, he had a lump removed but because he will not leave it alone it will not heal.

ah! Then a t shirt wont work! :) i had a dog that had op near their eye last year, but did not need to use anything to stop her rubbing it as she did not try, but i did keep a close watch on her just in case she tried, i am sure another cder will have some more advice for you, sorry i could not help :) x

Hi Sally..what area are you in as i have a "Comfy collar", it is an inflatable donut looking thing that i bought off the internet.

I'm in Sussex so if you are near then you can borrow mine.

You can also get a more solid version of the inflatable one - and if I couold remember what is was called I tell you. but google and it turns up

Don't know though if it will stop him getting at his face.

If scratching is a problem what about putting boots on so the nails are covered?
