I really wanted to put in a big Kudos to ALL of you Breeders out there! The Love, sweat, dedication, work, lack of sleep etc etc etc etc you all go through with your brood is truly admirable.
I often read through posts and can sometimes feel the stress you all must go through
It is definitely a labour of love and passion for you guys. And i so do not understand these 'backyard' breeders who spew out litter after litter to make a quick buck  These poor babies must miss out on so much :(

So,lots of love to all of you dedicated breeders and your babes.Just know you are greatly admired :)

if id have seen this post when my pups were still keeping me up all night,i think through sheer lack of sleep id have cried.
it is really hard work but the satisfaction you get out of it in the end is lovely.

I think even when you can officially go back to a normal sleep routine I just cant switch off from them
even going the shops is done very quickly so I can get back to them.

Mine are 8 weeks now and sadly starting to go to new homes but I get awfully depressed when they have gone,
were keeping a little girl that were calling crumpet so I will still have a baby to munch.

We said goodbye to daisys little boy at the weekend. We hand reared him from day one and loved him so much. Just so sad that Daisy did not feel the same He has gone to a wonderful family. We did our best from the very start it just did not go to plan but it never does in our home.

Thank you, not that I breed that often.  People out there don't realise the heartbreak, torment, temper tantrums, health tests, discussions etc. etc. that go on way before you even breed your dogs!

Sometimes I do wonder if it's worth it, but then I look at my dogs and know in reality it is.

Totally agree with you... And if for one very brief moment I thought I might have the skill or knowledge to breed a good litter ,I know I cetainly would not have the stamina!!

Having read through the posts by you guys, I don't know how you can bear to part from your precious bundles. No wonder you guys ask the most in depth questions to potential owners. God forbid anything happening to one of your babies. I know for sure that I would want to keep them all, even though this is not practical. I suppose that if you are keeping one yourself, you can, at least get comfort from the fact that yolu now can devote more of you precious time to that special baby that your keeping, and the rest of the litter are hopefully recieving the same from their new famillys.

mine are 10 days today , so i havent been today for 17 dayd upto now, just getting capnaps , when hubby takes over i still dont sleep for worrying .... im doing daft things now talking rubbish , feeling sick, getting snappy with anyone without fur but it is so worth evertthing  10 times over  .to hold them puppies to breath in their gorgeous smell , its what drives you on , makes your heart beat faster .... i just love my babies  xx
- By flufffluff39 Date 30.07.09 18:19 UTC
I had one litter and got up every night from the beginning at least 3 times to help mum feed and clean but all I get is crap off people :) who cares though I did my best and ended up with 6 live puppies from my girl and I am proud of that no matter what anyone says. I bought my dogs from a reputable breeder and she cross breeds so why do I get slagged off for buying them :) I could give you all her website address but what would happen to all those pure breeds and halfbreeds she has?? Exactly !!!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 30.07.09 18:29 UTC

>I bought my dogs from a reputable breeder and she cross breeds

Now there's an oxymoron!
- By flufffluff39 Date 30.07.09 18:31 UTC
I cryed everytime I had to get rid of my pups but luckily I can see them as I give them away to friends and relatives :) So not so bad as selling them. I still have three myself and most probably because of all the stupid phone calls and stupid people wanting them. For example a woman wanted one for company for a 10 week old shihtzu and she had already got rid of a shihtzu she had bought??? Sad or what?? I will end up keeping them :)
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 30.07.09 18:35 UTC

You too breed cross breeds don't you?

You've just had a cross pug-shitzu litter.

a reputable breeder and she cross breeds

Those two phases can't be in the same sentence! :(
- By flufffluff39 Date 30.07.09 19:07 UTC
Yep well you don't want to go there as your dogs are most probably related to all hers as she has alot of pedigree dogs :) No matter what you say she has pedigrees and has a kennels that breeds all types :)))))
- By flufffluff39 Date 30.07.09 19:07 UTC
Just leave it ok as your digging yourselves in deeper and deeper!!

No Liz - its you who is digging themselves deeper and deeper into the hole of your own making.  We know the stories and tales you have told - and you know exactly what we think of them.

People like you are dangerous.
- By WestCoast Date 30.07.09 19:12 UTC

what on earth are you talking about? what does the death of a puppy have to do with cross breeding? puppy deaths are harrowing and terribly sad whenever they occur and i don't believe anyone shrugs them off.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 30.07.09 20:07 UTC
No - we wouldn't be shocked - we get the picture - and yes - we do take care of our dogs - and know far better than you that they are not money makers - we don't breed for the sake of it - we breed only when we ourselves want a puppy.

I do hope this is a final Goodbye from you.
- By Pinky Date 30.07.09 20:11 UTC
Said ever so nicely and I don't mean to offend but chill a bit you're sounding like a soap opera!!

Nobody want's to see pups die, all dogs are worth the fight whether pedigree, cross breed, mongrel or whatever, don't be so dramatic, CD can handle all members and all members offer something and are welcome.
- By JaneS (Moderator) Date 30.07.09 21:24 UTC
Am closing this as it seems impossible for some members not to rise to the bait and use their Ignore buttons.
