Archie one of our Rotties has Entropion, he is booked to have it operated on the 10th August, he has it in both eyes but the vet is only going to operate on his right eye to start with as the left doesn`t seem to be as bad.

Would just like to hear of anyone else`s experiences with this and the operation and aftercare, we have some artificial tear drops to give him 3 times a day until the op.

My Megan had entropian in both eyes, one was so bad the eye had already begun to ulcerate (The breeder had not sought vet advice), Day after I brought her home she went to vet and he did both eyes, they were so bad that he had to stitch one eye closed for 3 weeks.. the other eye was a simple nip/tuck.  both ops were a complete success, and needed no further operations, although the vet said she may need another when she was older.. the ulcer healed leaving her with full sight, and never looked back.. The only aftercare required really, was just to make sure that the stitched closed eye did not tear open. the other eye required nothing except a wet wipe to keep the wound clean (Sringer Spaniel ears spread food around them lol) but Archie should not have this problem

Good luck with the op, and wish Archie a speedy recovery :-)

Thank you...The vet rang earlier to re-arrange his op he now has to go in on the 3rd Aug instead of the 10th, just not looking forward to the  Buster collar stage and a 12stone Rottie who thinks he`s a JCB for a while lol
