Can some of you help me please?

I am looking for open shows in the NE and NW of England upwards ,  I have the kennel gazette monthly but can't find July's copy, i think it had been thrown out in error, I have found some shows in tnh cumbria area for August as these are listed in the June gazette but I am looking for any in Sept. I have until the 3rd of Oct to get 3 open show points.

Can anyway help?

If anyone has July Kennel gazette that would be enough for me to get the Sept shows in England.

Try the Prodogs site http://www.prodogs.net/open%20shows/general_open_shows_2009.htm.  This has almost all of the Open Shows in the UK on it.

It depends of course, what breed you have and when the 18 months is up! :-)  Nidderdale Show on 21st September is excellent - we really enjoy going, although, sadly, we're down to one class this year.

Edited to say:  You said you had until 3rd October.  Durr!  Not awake yet...

Hi Blue
Yes, it is - I'm taking a day off work :-)  It's actually an agricultural show, and a very good one at that.

I have the above calendar with all the Scottish open shows on it, plus the champ shows, with secretary's details also there.

Worth its weight in gold!!

Pam, PM me your e-mail address and I will send you my spreadsheet.. (I know.. sad person I am) .. it has everyshow from Lancaster upwards & across to Newcastle (some gundogs, but you can pick out what you want) there may be enough shows to give you what you need
- By Blue Date 27.07.09 15:38 UTC
Ok Kay..

I have the SKC diary and the KC gazette but some are missing any help appriciated..
- By suejaw Date 27.07.09 16:13 UTC
Blue,

Would you be interested in travelling further afield it means getting a breed class/es for those last point/s?? It may well be worth it in the end?
- By Blue Date 27.07.09 16:20 UTC
Of course :-) half I have phone have no classes.
- By Blue Date 27.07.09 16:21 UTC
Thanks Kay much appriciated.
- By Vanhalla [gb] Date 27.07.09 21:53 UTC
Sorry there are no classes :-(  Worth a try.
- By Blue Date 28.07.09 09:08 UTC
Thanks though.. I think I may have a small handful  YIKES...
- By Blue Date 28.07.09 15:38 UTC
Thanks everyone.. I have found 5 that have classes.  Think I am going to call the awards section of the Kennel club and tell them how difficult it has been to find 5 open shows with classes within a 3-4 hours journey. ..

Now I need some " bad" handlers to take an extras I need into the classes..  GOOD HANDLERS need not apply ;-)  LOL :-D :-D

I think there are 3 open shows with classes for my breed within a 3-4 hours drive! One club we asked if they could put on a class as we go to their ringcraft every week, someone on the committee of another club said that they would put on a class and the 3rd club has had a class for the last few years. Just as well we don't mind travelling 100's of miles!

Good luck on those points.. everything crossed for you

Lol you can have my OH....At NWP he had to handle a Komondor for one of our friends, first time he has ever been in the ring...and the last...the judge told him in all the years he had judged he had never met such a terrible handler, he made my OH do his straight line twice lol and told him that if he stood the other side of the dog he could actually judge the dog not my OHs bottom half....Funniest Champ show I have ever been too we had such a laugh even if it was at my OHs expense lol
- By Blue Date 28.07.09 20:10 UTC
LOL My other half just wont go in the ring now. Nothing would get him in.  He showed his lab years ago once atg SKC and said never again. It takes a while to get the hang of it for sure. I didn't think I was every going to get over being so self concious but you do somehow LOL...

I have to enter 3 though at each show and my older one has a couple RCCs so I dont really want to take her in against the younger one but I will take 3 as at the end of tghe day if there was only 2 I have no chance anyway so it is all or nothing.

I think I should have just forgot all about it.. LOL..  I have set myself wee mile stones over the years and never had a JW. Here is hoping.   If you dont hear good news by 3rd of Oct you know I failed :-D :-D
- By kayc [gb] Date 28.07.09 21:30 UTC
Blue, if you let me know which shows, I may be at a few, I could handle (badly) for you :-P
- By Blue Date 29.07.09 09:02 UTC
LOL Can't you imagine the hilarity..

Kirkcaldy & Dist this weekend.

(I only entered 2 at kirkcaldy) so I may have cocked up this one so was not really counting on this one the rest I have entered 3.

Tayside 8th August

Upperward of Lanarkshire 15th August

Wolsingham ( down in Durham) 6th Sept

Lothian  12th Sept

Selkirk  13th Sept.

I have Irish champshows entered on 26th & 27th Sept but will enter  Dunfries & Galloway 26th Sept and Angus & Kincardine 27th Sept so I can decide nearer the time what I am short of.

Failing all that I will give up and have a long lie :-)

- By Blue Date 29.07.09 10:12 UTC
Worse would be me handling one of yours..:-)
- By kenya [gb] Date 30.07.09 10:04 UTC
Blue, I'll be at a few of the above shows, if you ever need any help!
- By Blue Date 30.07.09 11:20 UTC
Thanks Kenya,

To be honest, will would be grateful for a hand from anyone as there will be shows I do need 3 to go in the same class. Would make a change from a 4 or 5 ft dog eh :-)    You have to be bad though :-)   I should try and get a couple kids..
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 30.07.09 11:53 UTC
You don't want the kids to do it. They are usually better than the adults at handling :-D

I'm not entered at any shows but would have been happy to help out. My only problem is transport :-(

Never handled a little dog so it could ahve been very interesting ;-)
- By gwen [gb] Date 30.07.09 16:56 UTC
Well I'll defintely be at Woslingham because I live in the Village!  Am there both days for both Yankees and Toys, so would be happy to offer help (I am  a notoriously "not good" handler), and can slo offer srvices of 13 year old nephew as well if needed.
- By Blue Date 30.07.09 21:46 UTC
Are you not Dundee way Lindy?? would have been fine for the Dundee type shows :-) thanks for offering..
- By Blue Date 30.07.09 21:47 UTC
Oh that would be great Gwen as that is one I am going to.. Think that is one Kay might be at also as I will need more than likely two handlers.. you can just imagine the hassle LOL
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 31.07.09 06:37 UTC
I'm actually on the A90, roughly half way between Forfar and Brechin. The bus service is atrocious (3 a day, the last leaving Forfar at 3.05 p.m. and returns from Brechin at roughly 3.45) so going anywhere decent is a pain to organise. :-(
- By tooolz Date 31.07.09 07:53 UTC
Come down to the sunny South for a wee holiday Pam....that'd shake them up down here :-)
- By Blue Date 31.07.09 09:09 UTC
:-)   When I go into semi retirement I am going to get myself a motorhome ;-)  I had a lovely caravan which I loved but it was not getting used enough really to justify the money I had sitting in it plus it is more difficult for a woman to use on her own. A motorhome would be fine though :-D
- By Blue Date 31.07.09 09:10 UTC
That is not so good Linda. Can you drive?  I have freinds who are in Tealing across from the hall.
- By Moonmaiden Date 31.07.09 09:18 UTC
That will be me next year, except that it will be for Obedience Shows-might even develop a little side line of doing show catering !
- By Blue Date 31.07.09 09:28 UTC
Sounds good MM :-)
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 31.07.09 15:11 UTC
I have had a driving license since I was 17 (a good few years ago ;-) ) and I have a car sitting in my driveway. Unfortunately it has been SORNED for the past 13 months as I can't afford to get it fixed :-( Somehow I think it will have seized up on me now. It looks too good to scrap, but what else can I do with it? In order to get it fixed I need a job - in order to get a job I need the car - catch 22........
- By Blue Date 31.07.09 18:29 UTC
Ah sorry Linda, not so good.
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 31.07.09 18:29 UTC
Pity it's not down south, I am an average handler but could easily let the dog play up and sit down - and I have several friends who are fairly bad too! :-D
- By Blue Date 02.08.09 17:17 UTC Edited 02.08.09 17:25 UTC
Psssst  picked up one point at Kirkcaldy..yippee OH and I also won the terrier group under Frank Kane.    My two volunteers did a sterling job in letting me win as the others entered in my breed didn't show up so I had to take all 3 of mine in  :-D
- By kayc [gb] Date 02.08.09 17:23 UTC
Whoop Whoop... Well done.. on a countdown now.. :-)
- By kenya [gb] Date 04.08.09 14:57 UTC
Well done, there were a few Westies at Turriff on Sunday.
- By Lisakom [gb] Date 04.08.09 15:07 UTC
Well done!!!...Is that 1 down 2 to go??
- By Blue Date 04.08.09 15:46 UTC
Yes they few should have been down here :-D
- By Blue Date 04.08.09 15:48 UTC Edited 04.08.09 15:58 UTC
Yes  2 ,   well I would like to get 4 so that leaves the 21 points from champshows and of that I have 6 champshow firsts with her but only 5 will count so that will be 15 points so far from the champshows.  So let see :-) I want 3 wins now from Open and 2 wins from champshows.  I have 5 champshows left till cut of day. It is the opens that have been the headache..  If I get it great if not I have at least tried eh..
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 04.08.09 16:08 UTC
Well done!
