You need to take him out & stay with him every time he wakes up, after feeding, every time you see him looking as if he is about to go to the toilet & every couple of hours. When he goes outside big praise & tasty treats every time.

Put the puppy pads in the bin, all they teach him is to go to the toilet indoors.

If he is 7 weeks old her is still so young and toilet training will take some time, With my 3 I took them out every 15-20 mins and watched them till they went and prasied them....I soon learnt the signs they needed the loo and could get them out side...If the pup is shut up for a whole day then its gonna mess- (Not sure if your out or in at this time)

I did you inconeient sheets but (human ones as there thicker) but only in the crate at night and a pen if i went out for a few hrs when the pups were at the same age as yours

None of them mess in the house

You need alot of patiets and in time they will get they go for there buisness in the garden

get rid of the toilet pads.

all they do is teach your pup to go to toilet indoors.
what happens is your pup learns its ok to go by back door.

and it means you have to teach your pup twice - once to go by back door, and then again to go outside, which is confusing and time wasting

take pup out into garden regularly and constantly throughout the whole day and evening for next couple of weeks. this may also include getting up in middle of night at first as well.
stay with pup in the garden each time, encourage pup to go, keep it positive, and reward pup with praise or treats when it goes.

>when shut in the front room all through the day

Basically, at this stage you need to watch them like a hawk. You really can't afford to leave them unattended and awake indoors, or they will mess indoors.

How long is he shut in the front room for? Is there someone there with him?
