Hi there

My friends mum has asked me to help her search for a new puppy and since this is very different from my own breed i was wondering if anyone could help me out here. Are there any recomended health test for chihuahua's? and besides the obvious seeing pups with mum, looking at where pups are raised is there anything she should look out for, also any breed clubs for the south east of the country.

I'd be interested in replies to this too. A friend at work has been looking and researching for a while and would be grateful for any recommendations in Scotland (west).

No compulsory testing.  Personally I feel all toys should be checked for luxated patellas (which I do), but, no, no recommended tests.

Chi's weren't my breed either I like big dogs until my daughter got one and now I am reformed just need the space and time for another along with another breed that I want as well!. Google British Chihuahua club I am sure they will also give you good information and help. I would avoid any breeders that talk about teacups or similar descriptions also have a look on here for breeders or kennel club lists and have a good chat with them as you would if you were purchasing any breed. If you can get to any shows and meet people that would be a good way to.
