After asking advice from us CD'ers, Janes beautiful puppy took a first in her class at her debut show yesterday (championship as well), beating some lovely puppies! Well done Jane, shes a star in the making! Crufts 2010 here you go.
(hope you dont mind me bragging on your behalf Jane :)  )

Well done, what breed?/name of dog?

her beautiful ridgeback puppy Zola at the Midlands and Northern Ridgeback Championship show. Beat 2 of her siblings as well :)

good going.

Ahhh Suz my dear you beat me to it!!!
My darling ridgeback girl Zola (Priorpark Zula)  did beat her 2 sisters and another puppy bitch to win Minor Puppy Bitch
To say I was shocked and overwhelmed is an understatement
Despite my worry worry worry, Zola was a little star.
and I cannot thank the people on this forum enough as the advice and support has been amazing
Special hello to RidgieLover too whose very gorgeous puppy boy won his class too!
And Suz's gorgeous Baako who was in very stiff class and did very well to get his 3rd.
I am now addicted to showing!
Zola is very tired today and off her food.
Will take her for a gentle trundle through the fields later and hope she eats some tea after that
Thanks again everyone!
Jane and Zola

Well done again to Jane and Zola - what a start to your show career :) I hope Zola has now tucked into her tea.

We had a lovely day too. My Finnish import celebrated his first birthday by winning Best Puppy in Show - whoopee

I believe another CDer had a good day as well ...

Yes your boy shows like a DREAM Ridgielover, really really handsome boy.
Was so out of it cannot even remember which dog was in puppy bitch against you? After Zola won everything went a bit fuzzy, the judge did say that if Zola had done ehr thing against that puppy bitch she'd have got it.
If she'd have done it, she'd have won it

But it was fair - Zola had enough by then and needed carrying round virtually!

Great day, great first experience at a proper show!
Lovely to met you to RL and so kind of you to come over!

well done

Thank you for the lovely comments about my handsome Hadi :)  He's done really well, especially considering I've only had him for just over a month. He's such a sweetheart, the nicest temperament.  I'm really looking forward to the photos appearing - did you get the card giving the info about where to look? They're not there yet :(

The puppy that won best puppy bitch was Jocebec Jusi Elite, she's nearly 12 months.

When's the lovely Zola's next show? I've entered Leeds but don't think I can face the journey. I'm going to Paignton and Bournemouth though.

Hope she's eating alright now?
- By JaneBUK [in] Date 21.07.09 15:25 UTC
Will be at Paignton but Zola not entered, due to hubby messing up holiday datesGRRR
but we're at Bournemouth in minor puppy bitch again, no doubt with her sisters!
I thought it was the Jocebec girl, she really shows well, very professional looking!
I need to find a way to stop Zola tiring if she wins MPB again, she was shaterred for the bitch CC (not that she would have won but nice if she had been able to put up her best effort)
A big day for a baby like her -
I think feeding her straight after her class and putting crate cover on and forcing sleep is best idea?
She is eating ok now, she was never the biggest eater - hence her going off treats quickly - she is literally a one class girl!
Am still immensely proud of her though, have had lots of emails and facebook messages saying postiive things, which is nice
Of course I think she is a stunner but i know nothing about the mechanics of the movement, but could see in the vudeo we took, she did look pretty good.
We shall see, i have no expectations, except to have a laugh!

I expect Hadi will win a lot more and who knows perhaps one day we'll be head to head ;)

Sorry, Jane, now I remember you telling me about Paignton and Bournemouth. It was a long day on Sunday - that's my only excuse (well, that and age!)

I'm pleased she's eating now - luckily I've always been blessed with good eaters.

She did really well - as did you - you should be proud :)
- By JaneBUK [in] Date 21.07.09 19:53 UTC
I am very proud indeed, it's funny being such a novice though - weight of responsibility for being good enough to show her!
Never met a dog who had such a laidback attitude to food, made training her BLOOMING hard - we have to withold a meal on show days, which is why I think she  got so tired.
Am dying to see the pics and to read our first ever critique!!! But even the full results are not published yet? Toni Agnew was very complimentary which bowled me over!
Looking forward to Bournemouth now. How Do I find out when judging for RR's starts?
Cheers
Jane x

I'm hoping it won't be too long til the pics appear. Hadi's breeder is keen to see them too. I know what you mean about responsibility - I feel it too with Hadi, though I can't say I'm a novice :) I started showing back in 1988. Hadi did a lot of winning when he was in Finland. He was unbeaten in his classes and won three CACs - their equivalent of CCs.

The time for judging for RRs should be printed on the passes, when they arrive.
- By JaneBUK [in] Date 22.07.09 15:44 UTC
okies crikey I hope they arrive soon, we are away from the 3rd onwards!

Am checking compulsively frequently for photos
Your breeder will be chuffed, he has pretty stiff competition no?
And he has done very well....
