HIya, anyone have any opinion as to when the best time to reduce meals from 3 a day to 2?
Thanks

It's usually at round about 6 months of age.

I thiink its breed specific, well not breed specific but rather the size of the breed as with our large breed we dropped the feed at about 10 months, but I suspect its less with smaller breeds. Why dont you ask your breeder when they drop the feed?

I would also say around 6 months of age.
i have been thinking of dropping my 7 month to 2 feeds a day but he, s not a big eater and i am finding at the moment if i keep feeds at 3 a day of slighly smaller portions he eats them so will lea it a bit longer yet

I agree that general rule of thumb is 6 months. While needs vary, even in individual pups from the same litter, I usually advise my new puppy owners that they feed 4 meals a day until 16 weeks, then 3 meals a day until 6 months, when they can go down to 2 meals a day.

4 to drop to 3 at 12 weeks 3 to drop to 2 at 6 months then i always keep mine on to meals a day 7 am then 7pm,
would you want one meal a day.

I moved my staffy onto 2 meals at 6 months and my rottie onto 2 meals at 8 months.
mine has always been around the six month mark but have always been guided by the pup as they tend to start picking at one meal when they were ready to drop one if you get what I mean.

Ditto :) 8am & 5pm
Thanks for all your replies, I suspect he would eat all day every day if he could so isnt likely to show signs himself of wanting to drop a feed. Thanks
