I know there are normally millions of topics on forums about puppy names, but I really can't think of a name for the puppy we are getting in two weeks! Pleeeeaaaseee help lol She is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and I think she is going to be quite naughty lol, i'm sure a girlie name won't suit her! We already have 4 other dogs so i'm running out of good names for this little one lol. Anybody got any ideas?

Here is a site that specialises in Irish names and also gives their meanings. I have Irish Setters and chose Ruairi for the last boy.

I used to know one called Winnie, she was a total sweetheart and always had a cheeky grin on her face.

What about :-

Shreddy/Oats/Barley

I think being naughty is a breed trait in SCWTs ! :)

Thanks for the help guys, I have a few more to consider.

what about a Irish place name??

Yes i have been looking at place names, the only three i quite liked were Dublin, Limerick and Adare, but Limerick can't really be shorterned very well (Although I think will mostly be saying 'OI!' at her lol) Can anyone think of anymore nice sounding place names?

It's so hard to pick a name until you see exactly what their temperament is like. We picked 'Freyja' for a last Wheaten, because it means blonde, beautiful and she is the godess of love in Norse mythology. Her father was also the King of Sweden and the puppies sire was swedish. But after a couple of hours of calling her Freyja, i said there is no way she can a girlie name like that because she is faaaar to naughty! So she ended up being called Frankie, which suits her perfectly!

I think being naughty is a breed trait in SCWTs !

I think you are right, we have 4 Wheatens and none of them have ever read the 'How to be a Good Dog Rulebook' Infact, I think Frankie has most likely eaten her copy! lol

Ahh i've never thought of Tickle before, thats a great name! I had though about 'Tinker' but it doesn't sound quite right, Tickle is good though!

What about Mala pronounced Mallow , in Southern Ireland.

Thanks for all the help guys! We are now going to wait and see what temperament she has, well see what puppy we get. There are two girls to pick from, one is very sweet and lovely and the other one is...well... she's a little git lol But we are thinking about maybe calling her 'Dizzie' or 'Tizzie' - Her mother is called Teazle and they call her Tizzie as a nickname.

Just an update, we called her 'Dolly'. And yes, she has turned out to be extremely naughty! lol
