Topic Dog Boards / Health / Can I give Piriton While on Atopica
- By bevb [in] Date 10.07.09 16:59 UTC
I think Milo is starting to react against the Atopica. He is on it every other day now and tonight he was sick an hour after the tablet, the same thing happened last time I gave him one as well.
Tonight though he is going frantic itching and scratching and chewing himself and his eyes are runny.
I have always given him a piriton if he reacted to anything or got his hay fever, but can I give him piriton when he is on Atopica?

Its ok, I have now spoken to Simon the specialist vet Milo is under in Newmarket. He said yes I can give piriton, and to give him one right away as he had started gulping like he was uncomfortable in the throat and scratching his throat area.
He has also told me to stop the Atopica over the weekend to give him a break in case its that causing the reaction and then to start it again Monday, and see what happens.
He said any problems to ring him straight away and he will be on call all weekend.

Hi bevb

I know that you answered your own question :-)  :-)

But it's still good that you posted what you found out.  I wouldn't have known the answer to help you, but having read your post, it does stick in your mind, should anyone else have a similar problem.  If that makes sense

Anyway - love to Milo    Jean
