Topic Other Boards / Foo / baby naming ?? celebration - Help!
- By Wendy Wong Date 10.07.09 09:47 UTC
We have been invited to a Baby Naming!  I have no idea what one is or what to do.  Sounds like a party?  Is it a form of Christening? Maybe non-religious? Do I need to take a gift? If so, what.

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

It's a non religious christening where instead of god parents there are supporting adults (I happen to be one!!) who make promises.  Most card shops now offer naming day cards & if you so desire normal christenning gifts can be bought e.g. silver is quite a common thing to buy. Hope that helps!

Yes it is a non-religious ceremony, celebrating the baby with supporting adults instead of god parents.  You can get cards in most shops for naming days and like a christening yes, you can take a gift for the baby :)
