Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Beril/Beryl Hopping?!?!

Just on the back of the Companion Show thread.
I was at one this weekend and we had to do the 'walk of shame' 5 in the class and only 4 palces but the judge came over before placing and explained why which was nice of her, she said:
"sorry, i love his front movement but his back movement wasn't right, he was beril hopping & i prefer a stronger straighter back end movement, if you've not heard of it look it up"

I'm not bothered that we didn't get placed but what on earth is this beril hopping?!?! My dog wasn't hopping and moved as normal (which as far as i'm aware is correct) I've tried the dictionary & google but can't find anything?

I've heard of 'bunny-hopping' ... or perhaps she was saying 'barrel' not 'berril? Not that I know what barrel-hopping is either ...

I asked her to repeat it and she said "berril hop" like Beryl the name of a person! *mine boggles*

Razzle moved fine so i don't know did she expect a him (a boxer) to move like all the other breeds in the class?

Does he have the typical "cycling" action seen in boxers?  Could that bewhat she is refering too?

Jemma 86'
Having watched a few boxers movement from behind and those that were moving
bandy legged that is weak back end those dog tended to be high on the leg thus giving unstable movement.
Not for a minute am I suggesting that is the case with your dog but the judges
terminology may mean berry?beryl! hopping.
Ice Queen mentions the cycling action in boxers but I can tell you that action is common in Alsatians not german sheperds.
It can be described best as running on the spot they don't have drive.
must fly now but I will look out for BERYL!!!!.
