1 week to go <squeal>!!! :), just wondering if any of you guys going to Wembley on Saturday were using the parking there? I know they recommend public transport but I've got to work before hand so will need to drive there & meet my friends for when the gates open at 4pm! It's not steep at £25 but I think this is the only way I can guarantee to be there!
WOW. You have a great time. Unfortunatley we could not get any tickets, but know two friends who have been to see them in the last month. One to Newcastle and the other Manchester and both agree they were fantastic. The best gig [i would say concert but thats not cool according to my son] they have ever been to.

Going Friday!! (squeal right back)
Hope you have a brilliant time

I saw them at Cov and they were just fantastic, as usual! Amazing show though this time.

One of the girls went a couple of days ago and said it was absolutely brilliant.
i'm not going, but i went to see them on opening night in Sunderland. They were amazing, and boy did they look hot (Jason in particular, although Gary didn't look too shoddy either ;) )!!! We parked in this rather questionnable place for £2 but it took us well over an hour to get out of the place... I'm glad we didn't do the park and ride though - as we finally hit some moving traffic, the queues for the buses just went on and on and on - i think i'd probably got home before half of the people got on their bus!

a friend of mine was at hampden and said it was awesome, so have fun :)
We were at the opening night at sunderland too...absolutely amazing wasn't it!!! We had to get the metro back into newcastle and had to queue for HOURS...eventually got back to the travel lodge at 2.30am!
bloody hell! We got in the car at about 11.20, got home (10 mins from middlesbrough) at 1.15am. I wouldn't care, but a friend from work went the following night, parked just over the way from us, and her fella knew the back roads, so was straight out, and home in half an hour! Swine. Do you know what? Since being there, The Circus hasn't left my car cd player. Infact me and rich were having a sing-a-long on the way home. I can't believe how much better they are now than what they were *swoon*

i was at Hampden, and they were AMAZING!!!! easily one of the best concerts ive seen, and ive been to a fair few. im getting all flushed thinking about them *sigh* jason is GORGEOUS, mark is lovely, gary is also gorgeous, and howard, well, hes 4th out of 4 bless, but still nice! They really have put on an amazing show, and done some of the old classics, fantastic. im so jealous, wish i could go again.
jason really is divine..... Did you see him on jonathan ross in that suit???? *drool*

*swoon* i did, didnt hear much of what he was saying, was watching with my head tilited to one side and my mouth open haha. he was never my favourite when i was younger, but as he has matured, drool indeed! how amazing! the entire show was fantastic!

last time i weny to Wembley was Micheal Jackson's History tour 16th July 1997,
we parked in the Wembley car park and it took us 2 hours to get out of their , i was totally mad ,
dont know what its like there now since its been done up but id check my coolant level before going to something like that again , wouldnt want to overheat ,

I knew this thread would be about their concerts. Delayed coming on it as i'm dead jealous i don't have tickets.
A friend kept saying her mum had a spare one and that i could possibly have it, not been mentioned recently.. sob..
Maybe next time round they do a concert, that is if they don't break up again..

Im going to Wembley on Saturday, we are going up to london early for a few beers and lunch so will be getting the train. I imagine it will take a while to get out - I hope the tubes dont close by the time we get there. My OH owes me though, I picked him up 3am in central london when I was 7 months pregnant so he can come and get me if I get stuck ;)
Cant wait, I havent missed a Take That concert yet !!

> I hope the tubes dont close by the time we get there
I'm pretty sure they put extra on & they stay open later, at least they did for ther FA Cup.
my step daughter is working at wembley selling drinks she has to wear an awful outfit she wont be hard to spot! she gets to see Take that over and over again....and then Oasis...
We were at Wembley last Friday night to see ACDC, 'ran out' at the end, straight onto a tube and off at Farringdon. Left Wembley at 10.50 and were back in the flat at Holborn at 11.20. I was very impressed with the public transport arrangements.
I saw Take That in Sunderland on the opening night and they were excellent (ACDC just pipped them though IMO!) and we got a taxi to take us the 6 miles home. Getting out of the stadium was no easy feat and we waited ages for a taxi so it took us a good hour and a half to get home. Unfortunately we aren't very well equipped to deal with crowds of this size in the North East and need to take a few tips from London Transport (or whatever it is called these days!)
The gates for both gigs opened at 4pm but I don't think there's much going on at that time so being a bit late shouldn't make too much difference and it may be worth weighing up missing a bit at the start in favour of getting home a whole lot quicker.
Enjoy anyway
Andrea

We are parking in Hillingdon and going in by tube.

Parked at Beaconsfield and train in. Easy journery.
Had an absolutly brilliant evening look out for the elephants tail!!!

Can't wait now, so excited!

im soooooo jealous, they really are fantastic
give them a wave and kiss from me!

Did you enjoy???????
My throat is still sore today...
Wasn't it good. There was so much to look out for. All the circus acts were fantastic. I loved the elephant, that was the high light I think :-)
Hope you had as good a time as we all did!

All I say is WOW, they were amazing, I've never seen anthing like it before. By far the best concert I've ever been to, loved every minute of it! Although did not love the 3 hours it took us to get home!! Argh! Getting out of that car park was a nightmare!! Just listening to Radio 1 & they're playing clips from last night! Can't wait for the dvd to come out so I can watch it all again!

WOW Wasn't it just!!!
After going up by train I will NEVER drive into Wembley again. The public transport was so well organised.
We were on the train on our way home in about 30 mins. First time I have visited the new stadium as well... very impressive!

I've just been listening to the live stuff on Radio 1 too and re-living Saturday night! Also looking forward to the DVD.
How can they re-build a national stadium and make the car parking soooo inefficient?! Concert was great though.

I'm going again this Saturday to see Oasis & am definitely not parking there - we'll be heading back to Basingstoke to stay with some friends, where would you recommend parking in order to get the tube in & out of Wembley?

> make the car parking soooo inefficient?!
I think they make it so diffifcult to encourage people to use public transport, they let all the coaches out the car park first too, highly annoying then I hit 2 sets of roadworks one on the M25, 4 lanes down to 1 & then on the Queen Elizabeth Bridge.....all worth it though!! :)

I would get the tube to waterloo, we got the tube sat night, although we went back to Paddington, it was quick and easy, the tube wasnt even packed ..... the mainline train on the other hand was rammed !!!!

Could we park at Waterloo though? I'm really looking for ideas for somewhere that has a tube station close by that I can park the car at whilst we're at the concert. Kind of like a park & ride system.

The council wanted it to be public transport for the people who live in the area. I have to say the public transport arrangements where absolutley brilliant. We were on our way home in no time

I think you can get the mainline train from wembley stadium to Basingstoke sure that was the next gate to ours!
But I may be wrong!

get the tube to waterloo then the train direct to Basingstoke. Not sure about parking in london if you wanted to drive.
