Topic Dog Boards / Health / Beware - seeds

Whistler was a bit off on Thursday and he yelped when I combed the seeds out of his ears, Friday he yelped when I did the same, by Saturday it was obvious he had an ear problem Thank goodness the vet had a slot on Saturday his ear was hot to the feel, our vet had a look raging infestion and next to his ear drum a big seed. He had to be knocked out to get the thing out it was about half an inch long. I am so fanatical I stop when walking to pull seeds out but how this one got in I do not know!! So £115 lighter I cuddled him on the way home and sat with him watching tv all Saturday afternoon poor baby, as he slept they are funny doopy.

What he does not know is he is being castrated on Wednesday! Kelly who has him when we go away said he was a nightmare last time humping every dog in sight and he is always sticky so its time I think. Not looking forward to it I will book Thursday off if he is really poorly and cant manage the office.

glad he is ok, and i am the same on a walk always picking off anything that gets in my dogs fur, but will certainly be more careful around the ears.  My brothers dog used to be a pain on walks with my dogs, he would try and hump them all the time! But he has now been castrated and the walk this weekend was so much more relaxing! :)
