I remember the ladybird invasion too.

My son was born in July 1976 and I can remember begging my doctor to just  induce me and get him out as I couldn't stand the heat any longer.
I would love this weather if it wasn't for the dogs.  I am having to sit indoors with my doors shut as they keep going and laying in the full sun.  With the temp at 45 degrees here today in the sun and 30 in the shade they would get heat stoke very quickly. 
They are really frustrated being shut inside though and whining and running up and down, not making it pleasent at all.

Oh yeah....I was there, living and working in London, I must have been mad when I could have been at home with all that my tiny home had to offer in that summer.
But to a teenager it was far more exciting to be in london.............
When having my last baby who was born in September I spent a lot of time on the beach digging a hole in the sand to lay down and bury my 'bump'. \It wasn't like '76 so I can imagine only how uncomfortable it would have been to be pregnant.
