I have accidently ordered the wrong dog food for a friend and will be getting in touch with the company tomorrow to see if they will accept a return.  I ordered wafcol salmon and potato large breed instead of small medium breed.  I have had a look online at parcel delivery companies and the costs are extortionate.

30kg of dog food cost me £75 but some companies are charging that to ship it back to the company!  Any tips about where I can go for cheap shipping or does anyone local to me on here feed large breed salmon and potato wafcol that would want to buy it?

Being honest it is only a bit bigger I would just use it up :-)

PS you can get it cheaper than that also.. I'll post the link.

what do you mean it is only a bit bigger?  The kibble size?  Is there not a difference in the composition of the food?  As I bought it for someone else and not for myself I can't really say to her that she will have to keep it.

The link to cheaper food would be great as I will have to buy her a replacement for the wrong 30Kg I bought - sob sob...

Oh dear - we've all done something like this at one time or another.  I've just bought a Tuffie in the wrong size but my OH didn't realise and was using it before I got back so I can't return it either!!

Not terribly helpful I know but if you do get stuck with it - try selling it on.  You will need to discount a little lower that the cheapest price you find BUT that will still be less than postage costs.

Advertise it as collection only and list it on the bring and buy section on CD or on eBay perhaps.  This isn't a cheap food so even a small saving might be enough to incentivise someone to buy it from you rather than their normal supplier.  If you are willing to take it to a show for collection you might get an even better response.

Good luck

the food is slightly, ever so slightly different between large and small however it's important here to consider how small the dog is.  Wafcol Large kibble is quite large, bigger then alot of large breed kibble.  Wouldn't have thought it would be suitable for a tiny dog but if we are talking more medium size it should be fine and dog will come to no harm at all.  I've brought the small for my large breed before and he survived :)  And still is at 11 years old.

It is for an English bull terrier.  I spoke to the company I ordered it from and they said they would take their delivery charge off the refund I would get as it was free delivery (but not to them!) and I would be liable for costs for sending it.  the cheapest carrier I found was £40 as I am not a business user so not registered with the business distribution agencies grrr.

The dog is on wafcol salmon and potato because she has a dodgy tum so my friend isn't keen on changing the food incase it upsets her tum again.

For a bull terrier the large breed would be fine :)

The acctually ingreedients isn't any different'  there is a little added G&C for joints and the kibble bigger but nothing that will harm the bul terrier at all.  if anything I would have such a heavy breed on large breed.  They are a breed that is borderline medium/large really. :)

I have said to my friend to try it and if it doesn't suit I will order her the correct size and either sell on the remaining bag or switch my pup over onto it when his orijen is finished.  hopefully it won't be a problem, fingers xed.  No need to work out how to send 30kg cheaply now - hooray!
