I am guessing I am not the only person to suffer from this embarrasing problem so maybe other people on the list can help
I have been booked in for a TVT op to stop this. Has anyone else had this done? How successful was it. I have been told I shouldn't drive for  a few days and had better walk the dogs individually. How long before you could drive and walk dogs?

Have had it done and it was very successfull.
You will not be able to drive for a few weeks not a few days and even pushing a hover about is a no no !!!!
you will be tired for quite a while and recovery period is about 6 weeks but will be told about this by your doctor.

It will be uncomfortable for a while but it is worth it as you will no longer be afraid of sneezing or laughing .

Hope every thing goes well for you !!! And take the time to recover as you can undo what has been done if you dont.

thanks very much for your reply, I was hoping I would recover quicker than that but as long as it works it will be worth it.
