Are there any side-effects that I should know about regarding the Rabies Vaccine for dogs. I have a 4 month old Cocker Spaniel who is due to receive his vaccination next week.

I had both of my dogs vaccinated against rabies when I moved to Germany from the Uk. and regularly every year since (in total jabs). They have not had any side effects and I was not warned about any from either the UK vet or the German vet. I do not know anyone here that has had any effects, bearing in mind that is an injection that is given yearly here. I would aslo mention that one of my dogs is old which did not concern the vet or resulted in any probs.
Why do you need to vaccinate against rabies? out of curiosity.
