I was wondering how you all dispose of all the poo our dogs produce?  I have 4 dogs and spend ages clearing it all up from the garden in poo bags and then eventually into the bin.  However we do feel it is not  very pc doing this and also the smell is awful.  Was wondering about getting one of those doggy loo things.  You seem to put the bucket thingy into a hole in the garden and pour some liquid in it which they say breaks down the poo.  They seem expensive but if they worked I would think about getting one.

Anyone tried this or anything else?

Those dog loos are rubbish. If you have one tiny dog they might work, but otherwise they're a complete waste of time and money.

Poo Bags for me too. But I only have one little dog so not much waste.

Wasted my money on one of the chemical loos - so don't do the same! 

I checked with the council, and they tell you to double bag it and put it in the bin to be collected. 

Poo bags for us too, though luckily with three monsters pooing they normally go while we are out so I can make use of the poo bins and don't have it hanging around in the bin at home so much LOL ;) ;)
It's the wet soggy newspaper from a litter of pups that is so awkward..but OH tends to burn it all every evening, after dark when everyone has gone indoors for the evening !!!  so that's not too bad.

We have a poo bin just down the road, so bag it and put it in there :-)

we moved here last october..found a green bucket type thing in the ground ignored it until in april this year i spotted one in Focus! upto that point i didnt know what it was..bought the chemical ..rubbish..now using bags again..still have a nearly full bottle of chemicals..it doesnt work on 2 labs!!!!!

I have two dogs and keep a bucket in the back garden for multiple poo collection.  It's lined with a large bag - biodegradable when I can get them - and then the whole thing sits inside of a small metal bin.  I collect as many poos as I can stand then double bag it (again biodegradable when I can) and put in into our normal rubbish waste.  During the summer I may need to change the bag more frequently but I also put rosemary and lemon balm leaves on top each time and that helps.  I can often get away with emptying it once a week.

I use poo bags when we are out but wherever possible I do try not to overuse plastic or use biodegradable ones.  Placing such a relatively natural product in a plastic bag is just saving it for future generations to deal with.  It also makes the smell much worse as the product heats up!  If I'm walking in remote places (not proper footpaths) I will often move the poo to under a hedge or well out of the way.  If I do see it again a day or two later it's already nearly gone as something picks it over and breaks it down very quickly.  The rain always helps too.

I bag it up each morning and put it in the dog bin in the park during our walk.

We have a main drain , we can just lift the cover and away it goes, although you cant do this with cat poo !!

We double wrap ours and put it in the rubbish, our council say this is ok to do.

As ours do it in the garden it goes straight down the loo.
So easy.

I have a loo downstairs that is called the dog loo. I have six dogs so have a lot of poo, even though they have their walks they all like to have a poo first thing in the morning.  occassionally we allow humans to use the dog loo.

Jazz usually goes out on a walk, on the rare occaision that he goes in the back garden we just collect with kitchen roll and flush in the loo. Easy

although you cant do this with cat poo !!

Why can't you do it with cat poo then? Is it just more difficult to pick up? Not that my dogs would say so they can pick it up and eat it in a flash YUCK!

Cat poo has different toxins, in a cattery thye have a special way of dealing with it !!

Our Council actually advise that it goes in the household refuse bin, double bagged.

Do you get weekly collections?  Our bin is only emptied once a fortnight hence all our dog poops go to the poo bin in the park.

For poos done in our own grounds we have a seperate bin with bio bags (nappy sacks from boots-much bigger than normal nappy sacks). The bag is then put out for collection in our normal non-recyle bin.
When out on walks I always feel guilty about using bags but hate the thought of the alternative of someone standing in it (and it's against the law not to bag and bin!)

We don't have a poo bin that near so I shall go on bagging it up (and then into a plastic bag - the sort you are feel naughty if you request in Tesco) and then into the bin.  It does smell though in this heat!

Our nearest dog poo bin in the park is six miles away, we put in nappy bag, then into half size dustbin, then every other day double bag again with compostable bags, into a big sealed container and off to the park bin.  On our return the sealed container is disinfected and when dry dusted with Jeyes powder for bins, if it's really warm - like it is now I sprinkle the Jeyes over the bag as well, it keeps the smell away.  What a subject!!!

Oh also to add, I bought biodigradeable bags for when we are on walks. They then go in the poo bins

I scoop up poos in the garden, into a plastic bag & into the wheelie bin, that's what our council recommends, rather than flushing them for some reason.

but must say if we had a fortnightly collection i would have to take it pretty far to find a doggie doo bin here,
