Just got back from work and we've been going through the news pages and they said different things.
Got in the car turned on the radio and MJ songs one after the other.

An unbelievable all round entertainer. He will be truly missed by many.

I was thinking about getting tickets for one of his shows - such a shame..

RIP MJ and peace to all his family and friends.
- By suejaw Date 25.06.09 23:38 UTC

It's one of the biggest shocks. He would not have been on my list of those who may pass away this year. No-one can take away from him that he was an absolute icon and genius with regards to his music.  At least he went out knowing that he was a sell out many times over awaiting his final concerts, though how he was physically going to do all those I have no idea I was expecting exhaustion collapse, didn't his promotors book him for 50 just over here? I felt that was madness. But he went out knowing how popular he still was and he always had his die hard fans.

It is a great sadness, particularly for his children.

Also Farrah Fawcett, wonderful woman, may they both RIP.
- By tina s [gb] Date 26.06.09 07:14 UTC
poor jacko, only 50 but what a talent. mad obv but even so very sad. life sucks!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 26.06.09 07:29 UTC
May the poor tormented soul find peace at last.

And I pray his poor children have more chance of a normal life.
- By molezak [gb] Date 26.06.09 08:26 UTC
Echo that JG, so so sad, his was the first album I ever had and I grew up listening to his music...  used dance with my mum when I was little to MJ.  He was totally nuts in the end but I still feel very sad that it's the end of an era... :-(
- By gembo [gb] Date 26.06.09 08:26 UTC
I've only just found out, can't believe it, MJ was an icon, such a shame.
- By Gemini05 Date 26.06.09 08:30 UTC
very sad news, grew up with his music, always tried to copy his dance with no luck! A true legend to music and will sadly be missed :(
- By Cairnmania [gb] Date 26.06.09 08:30 UTC
Tragic life, from beginning to his untimely end.  And you know people will come out of the bushes to write books and sell articles about their relationship with him, yuch.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 26.06.09 08:40 UTC
Really feel for Farrah Fawcett.  Won't say my views on MJ, but all that I can say is that I hope he rests in peace.

Feel that a number of medical professionals need looking into, this poor guy has gone through a lot and I'm sure that a number of medical people failed him, from plastic surgeons, the GP's that were prescribing him the drugs for pain etc and also due to his frail state.  I don't know why people are shocked he was a woman's English Size 6 when he died, so must of been only around 8 stone if that, this is not normal for any man and it must of been doing a lot to his internal organs to be this thin.

RIP.
- By earl [fr] Date 26.06.09 09:51 UTC
It's very, very sad.  I always felt he was always searching for something in his life that he never quite found.

RIP Michael.
- By daisysmum [gb] Date 26.06.09 10:49 UTC
Such a tragedy. I saw him when he came to Roundhay Park Leeds and had a fantastic time and he was a true showman. He has had bad press in the last few years and feel he had many people who believed everything they read and heard. RIP Michael Jackson.
- By shadbolts [gb] Date 26.06.09 10:55 UTC
Can't say I ever really liked his music but it is always sad when someone dies young.  I always felt with Jackson (and some other celebraties) that if only they had someone who would stand up to them and tell them what they were doing was wrong (or right) they could have much better more fulfilling lives.
- By k92303 Date 26.06.09 11:02 UTC
I cant believe it, such a total shock. I was hoping to see him on tour.

Say what you will about him but he was a genius musician and he was totally unique.

RIP Michael.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 26.06.09 11:05 UTC
A consumate showman to the end ......even Google crashed after his death!

A sad, misguided soul however ....may he now find the peace that he never found on earth.
- By Carrington Date 26.06.09 11:16 UTC
even Google crashed after his death!

Did it really? Amazing!!
- By shadbolts [gb] Date 26.06.09 11:33 UTC
even Google crashed after his death!

Strictly speaking it didn't, so many people were googling his name that the Google system thought it was the subject of a DoS (Denial of Service) attack so started preventing searches using his name.
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 26.06.09 11:35 UTC
what does that mean Denial of service on google?
- By luvhandles Date 26.06.09 11:58 UTC
I was so shocked last night when my Son woke me to tell me about MJ. May he RIP.
- By inthemistuk [gb] Date 26.06.09 12:11 UTC
never liked his style of music never liked him  but may his children have a normal life now he has gone..they deserve to be allowed to be children....
- By shadbolts [gb] Date 26.06.09 12:15 UTC

> what does that mean Denial of service on google?

Basically a DoS attack on a website is an attempt to prevent access to a site by bombarding it with requests for pages, so if I wanted to stop CD from working in theory I could send so many requests for the FOO page that the server couldn't handle them and it could fall over.
- By susieq [gb] Date 26.06.09 12:22 UTC
I'm disgusted by some of the comments and jokes that are already doing the rounds.  I wish people would show more respect, no matter what we think of him, he has loved ones who are grieving.

I'm not a huge fan and there's no denying he was bonkers, but I doubt anyone can argue he was a musical genius and top-class performer who will go down in history.  RIP.
- By Blue Date 26.06.09 12:28 UTC
I could send so many requests for the FOO page that the server couldn't handle them and it could fall over and that is what happened google reported ;-) crash , fall over all just loose terms for not being able to cope :-)

Don't feed the trolls!!!!!
- By bilbobaggins [gb] Date 26.06.09 13:02 UTC
I grew up with him too I started listening under the Motown label (move over you young uns),...  took my son to see him . Was awesome.
- By purplehaze [gb] Date 26.06.09 13:33 UTC
Im not a Jacko fan never have been.
I do however feel very sad for his family,(especially his kids) ,friends and fans who are obviously devastated at his death.
Whatever people thought or think about him,now is not the time to say anything negative as this will only lead to further upset for those close to him.
People who post stupid nasty things on Facebook etc should be pityed, they obvioulsy have nothing better to do.

whatever he did/didn't do in his life, however odd he was,I hope he has finally found the peace he failed to find on earth

Also wanted to say RIP Farrah Fawcett, brave lady, my thoughts too are with her family and friends
- By gembo [gb] Date 26.06.09 13:44 UTC

Ummm didn't you cut and paste that from Facebook? - isn't that what your post said.  It is about time someone came along and removed both those posts please - it doesn't look like CD at all. :-(
- By shadbolts [gb] Date 26.06.09 14:32 UTC
No someone posted the comment on here and it's been removed (I assume by the moderator)
- By CarolW [gb] Date 26.06.09 14:49 UTC
So very sad.  I remember trying to copy his dance movements and spraining my ankle.  May he be remembered for his music and not for other things RIP MJ
- By poppity [gb] Date 26.06.09 15:44 UTC
His poor children. They have a mother/mothers somewhere whom they don't seem to have any contact with, and a life bound up in Michael. They must be shattered.
- By ceejay Date 26.06.09 17:39 UTC
It is my one regret that I never went to the concert here when he was at the height of his popularity -  Have been listening to the gentleman who was on the team running the rehearsals for the O2 concerts - who said that in MJ's last rehearsal he gave it his all and sounded and looked like the old Michael again and in that one moment believed that he could carry off these concerts.
- By chelzeagirl [gb] Date 26.06.09 18:47 UTC
