Hi, myself and a friend are travelling over to the Welsh Kennel Club show in august and i was just wondering what way the benching works. Is it possible to be benched beside each other?

Only thing is its 2 diff breeds, Rottie and a staffie so maybe its not possible?

Ive only been to 1 UK show before and i was on my own so it didnt matter, but we are coming over together so was wodnering how it works, thanks.

Usually breeds are benched together, in alphabetical order of the owner's name.

So its not possible to be asked to be benched together then?

No like Jeangenie says breeds are not mixed up. You can at times manage to get somebody else's dog benched next to you, if you are down as the handler of the dog, but only if it is the same breed. Even if you show two dogs of different breeds yourself they will not be benched together.

Yeah i was thinking as its 2 diff breeds that it probably isnt possible. No worries, just thought id check first. Thanks for the info.

I guess if you wanted you or your friend could do a Not For Comp entry (if you have other dogs not attending) and then you's could use the spare bench

On the internet you can actually do this, think it's with the DogBiz site as I did with one of my dogs last year, though I had to say that I was the handler of the person's dog I think???

Oh really? i must have a look, ill be entering on that site so ill check it out, its fine if we cant but would be nice if we could as i dont really want to spend the whole day by myself at the bench.

Sorry, it's actually Fosse Data that have this facility, just noticed now after entering the National Gundog Show this morning.

That's what I said to start with :) but it still has to be the same breed.
