Tried searching but couldn't find any posts on cat poo.

There are alot of cat's where I live and I've noticed they all seem to use my back garden as a toilet so before I let the dogs out I have to do a cat poo sweep of the garden........for some hidous reason they find cat poo very yummy!
Now I'm not some one who is squeemish of poo but I really don't like picking up somebody else's cat poop and if I miss a bit I can guarantee the dogs will find it.........URGH!

Anybody got any friendly/safe ways/tips so that I can keep them out?

I've heard lavendar can deter them.

do you have a cat? I just moved to a new house and there was cat poo all over the garden. but I haven't seen any since my cat started going out there. so maybe a cat to get rid of the cats lol

ahh thats what i thought when i moved  into my house so i took in 2 cats ended up with 3 and it did seem to work for a little while sadly mine now poop all over my garden and whats worse is one of mine uses my large plant pots that i did use to grow my tomatoes in iv now given up growing anything in my garden as the between the cats poo and the dogs bounding around making the grass bald its a bit of a shambles out their, we are getting it done up after this summer tho so CATS watch out lol,

My parents use a 2litre bottle half filled with water and laid down on the ground. I have no idea how it worked but it does deter the cats.
Or, if you see the cats in your garden a well aimed squirt of water will put them off.

Hmmmmm I'll try the water bottles but I have a feeling Razzle might think "ooohhh new toy to play with" ha ha
Also I'll try giving them a squirt tee hee hee

Don't have any cats & don't intend on getting one.
Never use to be a problem this time last year......however thinking now that my neighbour has recently got a cat which then went on to have kitens, maybe she hasn't been spayed since and all the males are after this sexy pussy cat again?
Not too sure how cats & seasons/mating etc work

During spring/summer queens come into call every 3 weeks or so.

oh dear thats a shame about next doors cat that will be why your having all the cats pooing in your garden their for her the mum cat can get preganant very quickly after having the litter almost straight away i think
, not good for the cat hopefully next door will get mum cat spayed unless they are wanting to make money from their kittens we had a women along the road who did this with one of her cats the poor thing was having litter after litter and owner was always selling kittens when she moved out and left the poor cat their i started feeding her as she used to sit with my cat on the shed then celia hammond came and helped me catch her as she was quite feral and we had her done now shes a member of the famiy.
i also have used a water pistol on my own cats this dont work on 2 of mine they are very brave and dont seem to run from anything i will try the water bottle tho think i'll plant some tomatoes and stick a bottle in the pot see if that keeps them off it lol

That should do the trick. Just put them amongst the plants, flower beds, on the grass lawns etc, anywhere that seems to attract cats pooing!!

From a cat site

In areas you don't want the cat, look at plants which repel cats such as lavender, Coleus canina (scardey cat plant), geranium, lemon thyme & pennyroyal.

i find that 16 hounds do the trick!! All the farm cats keep a very healthy distance :)
