Received my entry for East of England this morning, enclosed was a leaflet about "Just Dogs Live"

I didn't know anything about this before entering and feel that had I known I would have thought twice about going.

You may think I'm worrying about nothing but I am concerned, on reading the leaflet, that non show dogs are going to be allowed around the ring side.

It's bad enough at Crufts trying to get into the ring with all the public around, let alone their dogs!!!

Does anyone know if that's the case or will these dogs be banned from the actual showing area? I have rung the enquiry number on the leaflet but the person I needed to speak to wasn't available. Have left a message and hoping she'll get back to me.

Dogs not entered into the Championship Dog Show will only be accepted on completion of a Dog Entry Acceptance Form.These can be found on the tickets page. 

Obviously the committee have decided to allow "visitor"dogs as allowed by the Kennel Club

Thats all well and good, they only have to pay £3 per dog, not for competion for the showies is £10. I know we get a bench, but does a bench really cost £7 !!!!!

will they let in docked dogs i wonder ? as they will have to pay to get in surely

Have just spoken to someone at the showground. When the public apply for their entrance tickets they are expected to complete and send in a form concerning their dogs which is very similar to the declaration we sign on our entry forms. On receipt of this form passes will be sent out with the entrance tickets which have to be attached to the dog's collar. She also assured me that they will not tolerate aggressive dogs in the showground.

I suppose it is really no different to a dog show at an agricultural show where there are lots of other dogs attending but I'm glad I'm only taking one dog with me as I won't be leaving a lot in the benching area while I'm showing!!

Surely that would apply to any dog not just members of the public's dogs???

Apologies if that was what you meant. I have entered NFC at Championship shows and didn't feel my dog was a risk or a nuisance to anyone

I think in the way the shows work is that any problems with aggressive dogs can be dealt with by the show organisers etc. Where you have this show and agricultural shows and the GP turn up with their dogs its how the deal with potential aggressive dogs in that sense. I've done a couple of agricultural shows and recently had a problem with a dog from the GP. Nothing i could do about it really, dog was fine in the end and no lasting damage in any way shape or form, but still worrying all the same..
