Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Large litter due

My girl has just been scanned and has at least 10 pups. The scanner has said with large litters she may be 1 or 2 out so could even be up to 12. This is a large litter for the breed. average 6-8.
Is there anything special I need to do to help her get ready for such a large litter?
Are pups from a large litter much smaller than from an average sized litter. How on earth will she manage with that many pups inside her? She is only an average sized girl. Not big for her breed.
Do large litters come earlier than small litters.
Will I need to supplement the feeding  once the pups are born?
How accurate are scanners? Could she have overestimated the number of pups?
Sorry for all the questions but am panicking a bit.

We had a large litter last year 9 pups which is large for my breed, she whelped on day 63 from 1st mating and pups weighed above average for the breed, mum was also quite small (before pregnancy...lol.)
