I was just wondering if any CDers who live in Devon own Bichons and would be kind enough to let someone thinking of getting a Bichon visit them?

A friend of mine is really taken with this breed but she does suffer from allergies and would really appreciate the chance to spend a little time with a Bichon or two before going further down the route of finding a puppy. She is going to come along to Paignton show, but there will be too many other breeds to judge if she is reacting to them or the Bichons.

hi, i also suffer from allergies and have been fine with a bichon.when i first got her i had a little reaction and took an antihistamine every day but found that i could gradually decrease the dosage and after a few weeks i didnt need any.  obviously they don't moult which is a bonus!

If your friend is interested i live in Devon and have a poodle - another small non moulting breed.
Just thouight id offer, however, if they have set their heart on a Bichon then i cant help im afraid :-)

Thank you very much, Freds Mum - that's very thoughtful of you to offer :) However, Louise's family already have a poodle so she knows she's safe with those, but she fancies a Bichon :)

If she contcats the breed clubs I'm sure they will have some members nearby who will be willing them to visit.  In my breed we now and again get a quick call from someone within the club asking if they can pass on our details for someone to come and visit our dogs in the home environment.  As do other people all over the country. :)  It's like discover dogs from your home! :-D

I've had lots of people visiting over the years who are interested in RRs :) Just thought I'd try here first.

I think it's a great way to do it.  Often keep in contact with those people, when they get one they let us know, e-mail afew pictures now and again and apprciate your hospitality and time.  Never come across a bad person and at the end of the day we all love to show off our dogs to other people don't we! :-D
