hi there,
i was just wondering your opinions on discharge on pregnant bitch's ? she is 5 weeks on wed,
i was worried yday as tilly had a brown discharge coming from her vulva? she had a ultrasound fri so all seemed well at the point.
so yday i went to the out of hours vet which i may add cost £100 for 10 mins!
i thought she would put my mind at rest but instead she was quite rude she asked who told me tilly was pregnant as she didn't look it! and that she looks in poor condition to be in whelp? (cheeky cow) implying that she's underweight which she is not she weighs 26.8 kg which as far as im concerned and my own vet that's perfectly normal?

so she gave her antibiotic injection and a swap to be sent off so this morn i took her to see my vet and explained all to him he told me not to be overally concerned with the discharge as its quiet normal? as did the stud dog owner? and to smell it lol if it smells foul then something could be wrong? he has also put her on a short course of antibiotics so hopefully all will be well!!

i was just wondering everyone elses opinion is on this as i'm still slightly worried though i haven't seen anymore today thanks goodness!
any advice would be really appreciated thanks kelly x

My vet charges £100 just to walk through the door on a Sunday, plus any costs of medication or treatment.

I've had girls with a discharge at this time, my vet assured me it was ok and thankfully it was.  My girl was put on a course of Synulox at the time for 10 days, when the course finished everything was fine and she went on to have a normal healthy litter.
