Hi I have just had an email from someone who had a dog from me. He is now about 4. Apart from finding a vet I am not sure what best to suggest. Any thoughts. I can only contact the guy by email. They are travelling round Europe. They have a  young dog who is fine.

' in the last week  our boy has stopped eating
we thought maybe to much saltwater from sea as you know he is mad for the water, so we have cut that down but still is eating sparely for him
we have  shaved him it is 30-35 degrees, i have tried him today on chicken, egg and he just turns his nose up,
still wagging his tail and keen to go on walks ...i do think over the last 2 months he may have had too much sea water/sand
i just do not know what to do ...the vets is next optionwe be hard as we do not speak italain'

So many possibilities it's really impossible to advise.

The dog could be suffering from the climate, and now that he's been shaved he has no insulation from the heat and sunshine, which could make matters worse.

I'd definitely take him to the vet.

I agree with JG, Those tempretures if his not used to them, with his top coat being shaved off could be suffering from the heat in one form or another.

Would say find a vet and someone who can translate to make it a little easier.

As JG says, take the dog to the vets, I don't think language will be too much of a barrier, if a vet is presented with a sick dog they will know if it is serious or not.  I'd be inclined to think the climate is too hot for him so may need keeping indoors or in the shade when outside, but not walking in that heat.

Too much sea water can be a problem if the dogs drink it, I am not sure what it can do but saw a post somewhere on this forum (I think) not too long ago about the dangers of sea water.

Definitley off to the vets is my opinion.
