My brothers bitch was mated just over 3 weeks ago and her season finished a week later, but the male is still interested in the female and won't stop harassing her and trying to mount her, if seperated he howls and his neighbours complain. I thought maybe an infection but my brother says she doesn't have any symptoms. She has however been sick this morning and he says she is quite clingy and loving.

Could the male still be attracted to her if she is pregnant or does this need checking out?

ive only ever known the dog to still be attracted to any of my bitches afew days ater mating (about 4/5 days) then they stop ...so it could be a sign of infection im sure some1 will be able to help you more x

dont want to scare you but i have had this twice and both times the bitch went on to develop open pyometra, maybe worth getting her checked out, if not keep a close eye on her for any strange discharge at all.
