- By Dill [gb] Date 07.06.09 10:31 UTC
We use Tesco mobile which 'rides' on the back of O2.   Always great coverage even when others struggle.

But not this weekend!

Came home from Newbury -  where it was working, and can't get anything but an emergency signal

I get an R instead of a Y, and OH gets Emergency only

Have tried the websites and got no joy!!   Their advice online is to phone them!!!!   Which I can't/won't do as my mobile WON'T WORK!!!

Wahts going on???   can anyone help? please??????

I've never been able to get t-mobile signal at my parents parents house and it's really annoying, if I have to make a phone call i have to go down to the main road :(  Sometimes signals just miss certain spots :(

It isn't that - I live here and have always got a signal - even got a signal in the Cotswolds last week - no-one else did LOL

O2 have much better coverage than T-mobile - it's why I changed to them, in the welsh valleys I kept losing the T-mobile signal  :)

I've been told now that friends on O2 also haven't got a signal.   Not got any official info but looks like the network is down - possibly because of the severe thunder and lightning storm here yesterday :(

my phone on a different newtowrk did that one day and  I took out the battery and then put it back in again and all was well - a bit like rebooting a computer.  Switching it off then on didn't work though.

Normally if you take the sim card out and rub the metal contacts with a soft tissue etc
and then put it back in, this works too ;)

Oh's and friends' phones are still without network too :(

I get annoyed with Tesco mobiles.
When the phone is switched off texts dont go through at all.
And I send out a blanket text to groups of people for my club.
When someone on Tesco mobile has their phone turned off, it fails to send and ends up in drafts!!!! have to delete their number and resend.
So I would never have a tescos mobile!!!!
LOL
Lea :)

We've never had that problem!  If our phones are switched off all messages come through when the phone is switched back on again.   Maybe it's something to do with the way these people have their phones set up?

Still no network - what I find strange is there is no mention of it online anywhere

We have had this problem before too, but with T-mobile, no explaination either lost about three days when the network went down a few weeks ago, some T-mobile phones were ok, which I did not understand. Could not make calls, kept disconecting saying connection error or no network coverage, could not recieve calls either. Texts messages took ages to send and deliver, and would recieve messages days later that people had sent, then it just righted it's self. No word as to why from T-mobile. :-(
Sorry can't be of more help, but can sympathize with you. :-(

They're teasing me now! :(

Phone came back long enough to receive a message from my daughter from last saturday   but by the time I had written one to her network had gone again  so I couldn't send it :( :(

Have been on the O2 website and in order to report a problem I have to phone them - ha ****** ha :(  or I can e-mail them if I give them all thedetails of my life so far :(  - not going to happen.

My mobile's O2 and I haven't had a problem (other than not being able to get a signal at home, but that's usual. It's fine down the road.).

Have you dropped the mobile phone recently?  Rory killed my phone by wandering around and dumping it on the kitchen tiles, subsequently dislodging the arial so phone no longer works.  I'd suggest trying someone elses handset.

Everyone else I know on O2 had the same problem :(

It's all back now - it wasn't the handset ;)

It was the ****** network!

We're all ok now - can all phone each other fine

Phew!
