all pups are born feeling cold.

It must come as a shock to them when they hit the air of the outside world, after being all comfy and warm.

When I have newborns, the central heating is turned on 24/7 and I always use underbed heating.  What sort of heat pad are you using?

They shouldn't be cold if they were born yesterday.  They should now be warm and 'plumped up'.  Have you got them in a covered whelping box?  What is the temperature inside or in the room?
More pups die from being cold than any other reason......  They cannot regulate their own body temperature and shiver until they are around 10 days old.

You need to get the pups temp up,hot water bottle wrapped in a towel, put the pup in a box on top of the water bottle
and put a towel over the box  to keep the heat in.
Pups cant regulate their own body temp so need heating.
Dont try to get the pup to feed till you have it warm.
We put a thermometer in the whelping box at ground level where the pups lie so we can keep an eye on it all.

Thank you all for the help and advice we did try the hot water bottle method but unfortunately we lost the puppy durin the nite we tried our hardest to keep her going. She didnt look great from birth looking much smaller and weaker than her brother.  Our little boy is completely different very stocky and plump and with the warm temp
