Hi i was wondering if any of you could help i had a litter with just one pup 6 wks ago today he has been eating food for 2 wks now and he is still feeding from mum but he isn't interested in water at all i put water beside his food and i dip my finger in touching it of his mouth but no he wont go to it at all

His food is soaked in water but i do get worried just incase

He is happy confidence is coming through brilliantly eating 4 small meals a day plus having milk from mum he poos/pees fine

But i thought that he would be having drinks of water by now??

I wouldn't worry, he's still feeding from mum, eating wet food - he'll drink when he's ready lol

If you're worried about him learning to lap, try giving him some puppy milk or broth - he'll probably enjoy that :)

How thick is his food?  We have started to wean out 2 & half week old pups and were getting hang of lapping so tried them on just lactol but they each tried and gave up, but when mum came in were hungery so put it down to the fact they couldn't lap liquid just yet, could this be the same with your boy?  He is ok eating stickky food but not lapping liquid????
